The occupation government approved the establishment of a network of underground roads and tunnels for the Palestinians in preparation for annexing the Maale Adumim settlement, east of Jerusalem, to the occupying state, thus completely separating the north of the West Bank from its south. Palestinians heading via the only road from north to south have a new checkpoint in addition to the container checkpoint. In the attached map, the brown color is the Palestinian areas, the blue color is the settlements, and the red color is the areas where new settlements will be established. At the top of the map is Ramallah, the middle is Jerusalem, and the bottom is Bethlehem. To the east of the Maale Adumim settlement and reaching the Dead Sea is a barren, mountainous desert area in which there are some settlements and camps and a very small number of Palestinian Bedouins whom the occupation plans to expel. In the next stage, there will be a complete separation between the north and south of the West Bank. Do not be surprised if movement between them requires permits and security approvals.
